hosean > After a week of revival services, members of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pignon, Haiti walk in two rows to the community river. Note the dusty roads, it hasn't rained here in over a month. Temperatures today hit 90 degrees.
hosean > Amid bathers and laundry workers, the church had set up an area on the right bank for people to change after their baptism. In the mean time, the choirs began to sing prior to the pastor's message in this open air meeting.
hosean > Younger residents scale the surrounding cliffs for a better view of the baptism service...
hosean > Other kids just stand where they are, while their mother's finish doing laundry.
hosean > Pastor Jephthe Lucien, standing next to his father, Pastor Sidoine, explain the why's the baptism and encourage other hearers to embrace the faith.
hosean > Pastor Jephthe Lucien prays with new believer (in red hankerchief) while others assist.
hosean > Faniel Joseph, a student a Hosean's high school and sponsored by an American donor, receives baptism.
hosean > Two residents of Hosean's foster home are also baptized. Jean Pierre Surfin holds his nose and Fenes Mangny prepares to enter the river. We're excited to see these two young men who live with us make this public statement of faith!
hosean > On the way home, a youngster was dressed up for 'Mardi Gras' with mask and newspaper-piece costume. While he doesn't quite understand what it's all about, it's a striking contrast to the young men who've just made commitments to God.
