Each year, we've been blessed to be able to distribute the generous gift boxes from two churches in the U.S. One is Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, FL, (http://www.gibcjupiter.org) and the other is Meadow Springs Community Church in Shakopee, MN (http://www.meadowonline.org). Together they sent a total of 300 boxes which we distributed on New Year's Eve. The giving of gifts or etrenne is more traditional around the New Years' holiday here in Haiti. We also cooked rice, beans, and chicken drumsticks enough to feed the entire group. It is a treat here for the kids to get meat, and for some a rare occasion. Also distributed were several boxes of donated clothing, given to the most needy. Thanks to all for their contributions and work to make this party a memorable celebration!
